Thanks for the photos! I was so glad to see you had those- I took fewer shots at AB than elsewhere this year, for some reason.

Great pictures RH! I had a great time this year. Nice to meet a couple of you in person, however briefly. Thanks again Mark for organizing such an amazing gathering of people.
If DesertBruin materializes I'll definitely be there and look forward to meeting more of you.

It was nice to have met you, A_see.

No worries. You weren't the only one. I had conversations with 2 or 3 other people that night that started that way.

Looks like the videos haven't grabbed much attention, so I guess there is a desire for some narrative? So here goes:

Denimbruin 2016 Day 1
1890 Bryant st studios
Michael & Charla Harris, Hollows Leather, & LVC

The first day of Denimbruin has historically been the Harrises day to show their collection of vintage workwear. This year I rented the lobby of a studio complex at 1890 Bryant st studios- a renovated former mayonnaise factory from the turn of the century that now hosts four floors of artists, photographers, vintners, and robot fighters.
The lobby we used is a huge space surrounded by smaller individual artists spaces. It has high ceilings, expanses of white walls, a polished cement floor, and a row of windows looking west towards the ocean and the sunset.
meaty_ogre and I arrived at the space Friday morning to do some last minute prep work before the exhibitors started roiling in. here are some shots of the nearly empty space:

The first exhibitor to arrive was LVC.
LVC wanted to set up a display with some art and vintage studio furnishings to highlight their current 9th Street collection, which takes inspiration from New York's early '50s art scene.
They pulled a huge van up to the loading dock and their crew started ferrying their display up to the third floor- but hit a snag when it was discovered that the buildings freight elevator was out. This table is about 9 x 3 x 5, and has a solid steel frame, so there was a good bit of discussion and dubious inspection of the winding three story staircase.

Michael & Charla showed up next, and started bringing up bins of clothing, scraps and books to display. They had the largest space in the show, several whole walls and a number of large tables for smaller pieces and a display of Charla's recent workwear book (still in Japanese only).

I made a beer run at this point, going into downtown SF to Perbacco restaurant for the pick up, and also grabbed a batch of late breaking reverse print Denimbruin T shirts from nearby Ape Do Good printing.
When I arrived back, LVC had wrangled the table up to the third floor and the Harrises were well on their way. Bob Dale, TheJerry and Rivet_Head had also arrived and were assisting were needed, so i took a moment to catch some images of the proceedings:

Nicholas Hollows was next in- he was on a quest to eat a doughnut from every pastry shop in SF, so had taken a few detours.
Work Horse Rye also came in at this point and started setting up their bar and making a few drinks for the core crew.

*Lefty* & Righty and illumin8em & Lady8em arrived soon after. A nicer and cuter pair of couples I have yet to meet.

Florian (The Jerry) drew some directional signs to help guide visitors into the studio from the elevator banks:

Everyone pitched in to get all the exhibitors finished up, and by this point we were merging gradually into show time as some early arrivals began trickling in.
I had one last chance to take some decent pictures before things got too hectic to wield the camera:

Hollows' display - belts cut to order, passport wallets, a couple of very nice bags- one all leather and one a wabash/leather collab with Circle A, his nice new Velvasheen Ts, and a variety of accessories.
The bracelets on the bottom were made by hollows and inscribed by his girlfriend, @ajunkysock.
