I think that I bought the last one in the store. It's a large and a bit big on me, but I love it.

I really like this coat, did anyone happen to notice it being discounted in store?

Are they still in business? Their page is down and all I find online is sold out or on sale.

they ditched the name, are selling off the carter's stuff at a deep discount, but still carry most of the same items. -edit - they carry most of the same brands. I'm disappointed to see the carter's brand go (again).

I just got this - the photo is pretty blown-out

You wanna know what happened? The other Carters company (the one that make the baby clothing) were pissed off about the confusion HW Carter presented to their customers. Customers where going online and seeing this heritage stuff at perceived high prices, and not the discounted baby shit they are used to. So they swooped in and made the license holder a offer to end the brand. The number offered was staggering. I mean ridiculous! I mean Coke A Cola kind of money.

It's sorta a bad move on the baby clothiers cause they could have offered the same money, purchased the HW Carters and had it run as a sub-brand. It would have been a turn-key operation. Retail spot, web, online ordering, etc. They made the offer out of spite to dead the confusion and kill the brand. So it goes in the clothing game. It can be ruthless.

If you don't know the Carters I'm speaking of, check the link.

That sucks!
I hope the people behind the brand continue.
Really like their denim and duck pants and jackets.
Especially their 1920s style cinchback jeans.

I know. There first, and second run were really cool. The limited edition jacket they did with Rising Sun was epic! I think it was a run-over from the "Carters Vs. HW Carters" legal battle from a while ago. Both brands have a long history. But hey, at the end of the day cash talks (for some that is).
But the guys at Gentry (aka HW Caters) are super cool.
