i'm fairly keen on monolithic soviet architecture, and was blown away by this blog post about a crumbling monument to socialism, in the mountains of bulgaria. and now fancy a trip there...

the town i live in has an ongoing heated public debate about it's bus station: it's one of the finest examples of neo-brutalist architecture in the UK (if not the world), but the council have been trying to knock it down to build a shitty modern shopping centre for years. one good thing about the recession is that it seems to have put paid to their plans... and the tide of public opinion seems to be changing too, with the majority of townfolk now supporting it staying.

When you're down here, check out the award winning bus station next to Newbury Park tube station. Might be a good place for our 'meet up'.

The Citizens National Bank Building in my hometown of OKC.  It was erected in the 50s and was only the 5th geodesic dome built worldwide.  It's at the corner of a busier intersection so I probably drove past it a million times.

all the rest of the buildings I like are fairly cliche and I've never actually seen them in person (Capitol Records, The Gugenheim, etc)
