A little birdie told me the jeans are now with Professor Doctor Denimetc Esquire - some fortunate timing - so we can now declare the tour live as we move into the new year!

Honorable Duke et alia,

I can confirm the rumour - the parcel arrived last night and this morning I managed to take some daylight first impression/teaser pictures.

Holy Redchris!!

Duke, can you confirm - is the thread Poly-core or 100% cotton?

Y'know Doc - now you've asked I can't honestly say for sure

It was always my understanding that FW Lot 601XX used cotton threads - but that knowledge was based on something I read and have never tested for myself.

Bootleggers Reunion Lot 601XX '47 Specials - evolution

These are not mine, the images are taken from the link given above so the credit goes there, however aside from these being the splayed arc version, these are the same 14.5oz denim on the tour jeans and I think the demonstrate very nicely the evolution we can expect (I have a feeling some of this info might have been posted at some earlier date in the FW thread).

The first images are of the jeans after a year (worn mostly at weekends) and about 6 washes:

The second set are of the jeans after 2 years and about 10 washes:

Day 1 - Fit Pics

As expected the jeans are about one size too big on the waist for me, so I'll be wearing these with a belt. This studded RRL belt will be my choice of the month.

Overall the fit is very 47'ish. I am not able to make any measurement comparisons to LVC 47's but they seem rather similar.

Here's the missing rivet washer - I might leave the hammering to Doc. He might have more experience in hammering rivets.

I will slip a Swiss 5 Francs coin into the coin pocket to see what kind of mark that will leave during one year. It's about a size of a US half Dollar coin.

Fit pics front and back

They're still bit stiff so there is some hip flare

Don't know if this will help with the thread identification:

In summary after two days of handling these: amazing pair of jeans, nothing flashy but every detail is just right and really well executed. "Understated Perfection"

Great stuff Denimetc.

Despite them being a size big on you, you're still carrying them well, and they'll get better as they wear in.

You carry them very well indeed Denimetc. I'm excited to see how it will evolve over time. Looking forward to be a part of this next year.
