How about some form of spirit/alcohol based thing to thin the ink? White spirit/Meths? Dab gently rather than rub.
Or how about WD 40? That seems to fix everything.

A couple of years ago my kid got an OZOBOT for
Christmas, it follows lines/courses you make on paper with marker pens/basic coding,
anyway there was a pile of paper covered in different marker pen tracks
on the living room carpet. The cat came home soaking wet yesterday
morning and made a beeline for the pile of paper, laid on them and fell
asleep, when he woke up his wetness has transferred all the
black,blue,green and red permanent
marker through the paper and onto the carpet, its a right fucking mess!
ive tried cleaning it with Vanish carpet mousse and made it worse? any
suggestions before i try the decking cleaner?

sorry to hear & glad it didn't end worse! I would also suggest to wear a harness and safety line when working verticals - no free-climbing.

Thanks Martin, the old house had really wide stairs and only 7 steps up to a deep landing.. around a corner and then up another 7 steps to the first floor so you could safely plonk the vac down anywhere whereas this place has a tight narrow staircase with 13/14 steps so the hose will only reach halfway up/down. Yeah she's alright, she lost consciousness and a fair bit of blood.. i was at work at the time (having ridden) so i asked my dad to swing by and make sure she was ok, he took her straight to hospital. The crash helmet is good advice, maybe fullface to be on the safe side.

Sorry to hear that Neal and glad she’s recovered - I think we’ve all had precarious vacuum hose/stair conundrums at one time or another. In my view there are 2 possible solutions:
1) Park the vacuum at the bottom of the stairs and work your way up OR 2) Always wear a crash helmet when undertaking housework, you could extend this to protective footwear to (with coverings for those who don’t like shoes to be worn indoors) |

Thanks, she's already recovered.. it was a good few weeks ago, we've
just got the swanky new vac which has reminded me. She'd vacuumed most of the
stairs from the bottom, as far as the hose could reach.. then carried it
up to the top of the stairs and while doing the last few steps it
toppled over and hit her on the back of the head, she's lucky she didn't fall down
the stairs.

I hope she recovers quickly!

Bad news... and a silver lining this week Bad news is... while trying to vacuum our stairs which are steep and narrow my mrs managed to drop the vacuum cleaner from the top of the stairs which hit her in the head and fractured her skull.. (pfft last thing she needed) It was made worse by the fact that its a heavy as f**k 15yr old Dyson, even i struggle to lug the damn thing up the stairs and i'm proper strong ![]() I was contemplating having to buy a vac for each floor but having three floors (and a cellar) it would be a bit costly, We needed the lightest weight vac possible but the lightweight vacs tend to be cheap-shit and i didn't want to be chucking more plastic into landfill every few years if at all avoidable, i would never buy another Dyson because he's a complete bell end, anywho we ended up buying a Vorwerk...say what you like about these Germans and their perfectly fitting CSF, they certainly know how to make a decent vacuum cleaner.

In the middle of the night i heard a loud smashing sound like breaking glass, it scared the bejesus out of me.. i went running downstairs to find the cat had knocked the large glass tank containing the stick insects off the windowsill onto the kitchen floor, smashing it into a million pieces... f**king stick insects and glass everywhere and nowhere to put them....

Happened to me with some low level roadside service company that I was automatically signed up for when I got a credit card. I'm embarrassed to say how much money I wasted before I got shut of them.
