Ande reply's to emails very quickly, he got a Buffalo size chart in less than a day. I would be very interested in a pair of buckle back jeans from him.

Maynard: have you discussed a buckle back option with him? I noticed on the FAQ page it says no customizing, so I assume he would do a special roll or limited edition buckle back?

That is only a *possibility* as a future limited SR, but who knows? I think Ande is brimming with ideas so it may or may not happen. Cinchback or not, it's worth taking the plunge with a pair of his jeans. If you consider what an artisan he is, it's absolutely shameful that he doesn't get the recognition he deserves on this forum. I have lots of jeans from Japan's finest but I cannot see myself buying any jeans other than Ande Whall in the foreseeable future.

Quick and dirty of my new Caribou's

I sized down because I'm on a health kick and DAMN were these things tight at first, but now they are starting to soften up.

They look good Sardine, what's your initial impression of them?

I really like them. I don't have much experience with many different denims, but these feel slightly heavier than  the Cone denim I own (LVC and RS) and were definitely stiffer out of the gate. As for quality of construction I would say the construction rivals my Rising Sun standards (my faves), although I am no expert.  One detail I really like is the belt loops are straight up and down, and the heavy leather tag act's like another belt loop. These details seem to keep my jeans where I want them a little better than my RS jeans did. I can see these becoming my new favorites.
I think I may want to try the buffalo cut at some point as well, and I will be keeping my eye out for his special roll project's.
Thanks for the recommendationSmile

SR11s are up! Same as the SR7 - left hand twill in natural indigo but with gingham pocket bags. As my SR7 Buffalos are probably my favourite jeans, I'm going to get a pair of these and then I'm done with buying denim (hopefully for a number of years, but at least for now...).

Hey Maynard, thanks for the info. I just picked up some Mustangs. I think you have a pair of Caribou (?) which I considered, but they seemed a bit roomy in the top block based on the measurement chart.

Good man. I actually have the Buffalo, which are even roomier. The curse of athletic thighs you see...

Not yet, maybe never but maybe I shouldn't have said anything at all. I'll try to get an update.
